Seriously guys why is the blog dead as heck now I mean so our life stories come in byte sizes now on fb and twitter? Naw please, blogging can be really helpful for your essays, I'm sure.

Never really got to find the time to go down and visit y'all. How are you guys doing so far? (Assuming you are even reading this) Things are pretty ok so far at JC here for me, and it would be even better if the system and my feelings weren't so screwed up at times.

The mega-cool thing is that the JC has wireless. The not so cool thing is that my phone 95% of the time is unable to connect to the wireless. And when it does, the connection always has this habit of snapping halfway. And the connection isn't really great despite my phone constantly claiming the signal is good.

When the seniors say enjoy your secondary school life, WE ALL MEAN IT. ALso take this time to practise time management. Secondary school onwards, wherever you wanna go afterwards, it's either die or adapt.

Whooops sorry for the scary warning. Have an eventful happy life ahead, Oriolians!

CAMP WANTED IS OVER :)

You'll had fun and enjoyed the camp especially the sec ones:) I hope you had a great time bonding with others and understood each other better! Despite some minor mishaps we had, I want to say a BIG THANK YOU to all the whites who have putting in alot of effort to make this camp a successful one:) It was really sad and emotional at promotion and farewell. But I would like to sat thank you very much to our 3 lovely sec 4s Sheryl, Shi Ying and Eliz, for their guidance, support and love to the patrol although sometimes we were a little mischievous.... And for Christabelle and Audrey, you're now promoted therefore you've great responsibilities to carry out:) Of course, we would like to welcome our new PS Wanting *claps* I hope that we'll be able to work together and built a close friendship:)

Elizabeth: Thank you for being such a great PL to Oriole! You've given much and have lead your members well:) You've been an amazing senior, guiding and loving us trying your best in every way:) You're always cheerful and funny at times and I have to learn to be more patient like you! Thank you for the care, love and patience you've showered on Oriole and I'll carry on your guiding spirit:)

Sheryl: You've been a great teacher to me and I would like to thank you for your contributions to Oriole:) You're an awesome senior and must smile more kay? You always look very fierce but you're actually soft at heart. You always care for my well-being and I'm really grateful for that because without your support, I don't think I'll be able to pull through until today. You've taught us alot and I'll never forget the memories we shared together:)

Shi Ying: Thank you for supporting me when I needed it:) You have given your best to oriole and we appreciate it:) Have more confidence in yourself and all the best:)

Christabelle: Congrats on becoming Ps of Hibiscus:) Even though you've been transferred, but I hope that you'll always remember that there are always reasons why you're there. But compared to the white badges' journey in guides, it's an insignificant amount of time.

So urm, I shall start by saying thank you and sorry, for all the times we had together, and for all the mistakes I've made. Thanks for the criticism. It was and still is useful for us seniors to improve ourselves.

How's life starting in Term 2 oriolians? My class started on a hiah note and we were so high during class today!!!! Most of us were not even listening to the teacher. HAHAHAHAHA. Oh and today, we celebrated Ethel's 13th birthday YAY! Shi Ying Sheryl and Valerie, why never come for pat meet? *shakes head with DISAPPOINTMENT*
Anyways Valerie is leaving for Melbourne tomorrow so I would wish her here a safe trip and hope that she'll enjoy her new life in Melbourne

This is really random. I logged on to the internet and went to the bookmark bars. I saw the original cookie link, and I thought, it haven't updated for like so freaking long. Hello Oriole people!

I know I haven't told everyone, but as some of you already know, I'm leaving guides.

Actually, I've already left.

I'm so sorry about this, and I want you to know that it hasn't been that I don't like the commanders, or the seniors, or anyone. It has also not been the weekly tests, footdrill or really, anything to do with guides.

I LOVE GUIDES ALL THE SAME.

It's just that; it's been a busy year for me with events that I don't wish to express. I don't think I'm cut out to be a guide, although I've been in it for pretty much half of my secondary life.

I hope to be as close as possible to the guide seniors, juniors and especially patrol members, as like when I was in guides. I'll come for weekly patrol meetings.

> GRACE: I've read your letter. I cried halfway when I was reading, and have yet to decipher whatever I couldn't read through the tears. I want to thank you the most when I was in guides. And no, I disagree. You've treated me as a sister; even sometimes better than how my own sister treats me. I love you as a sister and hope to continue to have you as my sister for my whole life. I know I have left you as the only Sec 3 in Oriole but you're capable of being twice as good a Sec 3 than I when I was in guides.

okay anyway, i just started school like yesterday, and i really really really miss st nicks!!!<3 i'm in national jc now, in case you were wondering. it's a pretty nice place and the people are pretty nice and friendly but i'm still homesick!!! (yeah st nick's is my second home weeehee<3) maybe it's because i've barely familiarised myself with the environment...anyway, i'll try to visit often, but even if i don't have time, i'll definitely make it to campfire! in the meantime, before everyone gets too busy, LET'S HAVE A PATROL OUTING!!!! we can eat or whatever!

Finally after 1 week (and a day for me, 2 days for sec 3s) of being so stressed our exams are finally over!!!!!!! Now I am so relaxed that I am actually bored.... at home. Just can't wait for CCA to resume and to choose my sub combi :D At least tomorrow and thurs are holidays and we are gonna have our games day too:) HOWEVER, WE ARE GOING TO GET OUR PAPERS THIS FRI!!!! (HELP! I DON'T WANT TO SEE IT! JUST THROW IT INTO THE BIN OR BURN IT I AM FINE WITH ANYTHING AS LONG AS I DONT SEE IT!) *Sighs* Just face it, I am gonna die this fri T.T

Oh my tian, this blog si le. I'm going to post something here.

School TERM3 is hectic. Unlike sec1 and sec2, term3 was better than term2. well when i was sec1 and sec2 term3 was the worst term. I see the single digits@_@ miraculously or just my efforts, term3 was not so bad, except FOR WEEK 6!!! ARGH!!! WEEK 5 was the too-many-tests week, so week 6 being the most stressful week was surprising, except for friday, national day celebrations!

Maybe it's because, we were all exhausted from all the tests on week5 when the tests from week 6 suddenly slap you in the face. Oh well, Actually it wouldn't be that bad if my time management was better. It hasn't gotten better, but I'm still trying ;)

Oh, and if our beloved sec4s were to pop by for a while here, LATEST NEWS. yesterday, we were preparing for north division outdoor challenge, categories consisting of tent pitching, flag pole, outdoor games etc [forgot-.-] and to prepare some groups need to go out and practise with the mallets, poles and twine. When guides was about to end, TWO poles have difficulty coming out. O.O one pole, eventually, was pulled out in one piece! And the other one... erm... there we go again...

halfway through our desperate attempts to save that pole, we hear a crack, and another crack, and so on... until we took it out, bWoken [misspelling intended;)] whoooops. :O

So we blame [or rather, me] the environment and the bad soil. hoho.

Hey sec4s, I just hope that you won't be freaking out badly for o levels. I'm sure you have everything in your head. The school made sure all the info went in, I'm sure, so just be confident and be sure of yourselves(: love ya!!

Today, July 23 2010, we had FIRELIGHTING! :D :D :D

We shared a zinc plate with Mynah! It was so FUN! :D

I think our fire was quite good, it took awhile (a long, long, long while) to burn out! At one point it got really big and really hot :O then we ran out of wood... LOL. And if you were wondering where that neverending pile of punk came from, me and Nicole Ang (from Mynah) were at the Ford Factory for History Learning Journey yesterday and there was palm trees there, and a lot a lot of punk too! I think Christabelle was very good at blowing the fire :D and the Sec 3s and Grace too :D

Remember I was talking about that Oreo cake? Well it can be found at that breadshop near the Bradell MRT! It looks nice :d

hi Oriole! ehhh blog died[ed] again! lol! So i'm here to revive the blog.

this week [week4] practically no tests for us sec3s:DD but week5- EXPLODED WITH TESTS. So i was being a little guaikia today, preparing for week5 wednesday chemistry test by staring at the notes ;D hee. You guys should try doing that, it's awesome and funnnn, and spreads out the stress ;D

IDK WHAT TO TALK ABOUTTT! how!!! so anyway i'm just here to do revive blog [not with CPR haven't sent me for first aid, yet] and talk nonsense. ok so i went to church today so unfortunately I cannot join the others at some activity that will get their names into S'pore book of records! saw some guides walking to the MRT while going to eat lunch [my church is NEAR that MRT station kays:D] [no stalking after reading this cos you'll be wasting your time;)]

hey oriole! Haha i also want to come in with the 4th post (whoah peak period!) :)

omygosh eliz and zioedy said alot alr:), don't know what to say liao.. just that i'll miss the sec4s (esp zioedy and shangmeei) very very much.

I enjoyed camp!(: even though there are some things that spoiled it. but hey, these few things won't get us nowhere, it will only make us more able to adapt yep?? :DD

Some funny things i noticed in camp:)

1. day 2 night trail:
wenxin: i think the 3 ghosts are janice, zioedy and hsiaowei
how did she know!!
2. night trail again.
that's *whoever's name*! smart. the only person i managed to sniff out was jiahua from night trail last year. distinctive voice! ;)
3. night trail! PEOPLE keep screaming in my ears!! fortunately they didn't hurt x)
4. " i am the girl who was kidnapped. in order to find me you must go through this maze", said the senior.
so we started assuming she was alr dead and we are going to find the body instead ;D
5. bath time on day 3: everyone was wearing white socks to bathe. or rather the shoes covered the feet so the rest of the body is tanned;)
6. internal campfire:

I believe that you guys will be able to overcome any obstacles you encounter in guides, and all this would mould you to become a better person and like me, you would discover many new aspects of yourself. :) If you are unsure of anything, do not be afraid to ask your seniors, or me and yes, Oriole has your backs! :D Keep going on you can always count on us to fall back on.

Angelyn: it's really cool to have 2 sec2s in the patrol who have very different personalities and yet get along very well together! :D like yin and yang or whatever they call it, you and grace can 'balance' really well. Although you are quiet, you have your strong points and you're very supportive and contributive, especially in patrol meetings. Yep i trust that you would look after the juniors and show them the ropes in guides! (lol, guylines, twines, outdoor cooking and all!) ^^ Keep smiling and continue loving guides! :D

Shi Ying: Remember the 3 muskerteers parody (with Sheryl too!) haha! We've always gotten on well since sec1 when we first got into guides, and i really don't know what i would do without you. Your cute comments and randomness always brightens up the mood of the patrol. YAY~ you're a commander! I'm so happy for you! Although you are not openly outspoken, i know that you are a great person to talk to! (hinthint sec1s! you can try talking to Shiying too! :D) ^^ i know it's not easy for you to scold people cuz you are really a kind-hearted, sweet girl but i believe that you would work for the benefit of the company! All the way, and I really hope that you would learn alot, and have more chances to express yourself and let others know you better through this. :)

Sheryl: XD haha you're a commander tooooooo! :D that makes two in Oriole! Remember the service learning in ijhcc(with Shi Ying too!)? and it's like we're together for nearly everything (like gadgets and refreshments) :D you were always beside me when we were learning the ropes in sec1. :) I trust that you would work for the benefit of the guides, and really put in your best in all you do. With this chance, you would be able to grow into a better person and also help other guides! Yup, with your friendly personality and your hardworking attitude, you can do it! Keep it up, it's going to be an uphill journey but you can always count on your patrol members and friends for support. :D

Zioedy: You've been an amazing PL an awesome senior and a great friend to me! I would really miss you alot! I still remember calling you in sec1 a few times to ask about uniform or things i was unsure of, and you weren't annoyed at all! haha. :DD Through these years with you, i've gotten to know you alot better. I look up to you as a role model and try to learn as much as i can from you. :) Not only did you guide us (8 juniors whao!), you also bonded our patrol together! LIKE SUPER GLUE! ^^ Thank you so much for all the time you put into looking after us and your efforts for Oriole! it's farewell again and i really feel like time has passed by in a blur.

aaaand yes, oriolians DIDN'T cry again LOL. it's not that we aren't close. we're just not very good at expressing our emotions LOL.

anyway, whatever i wanted to say i tried to write down in the letters i gave you guys, but i kind of wrote everything in a rush, so i shall just write a short paragraph to everyone here to sum up what i want to say, in case the letters missed anything out.

to elizabeth:
I'm so proud of you!<3 you've been a great PS for oriole patrol and i really hope that you continue to strive to bring oriole to greater heights! keep up the good work and remember not to try to manage EVERYTHING yourself. besides being a PL, i know that you have other commitments inside and outside of guides, so get help from your friends, your juniors, your seniors, EVEN ME! Yeah, so if you face any problems, I'm there! Jiayou!~

to shiying:
we've been patrol members for 3 years now and i really think that oriole would be incomplete without you. your lame jokes and randomness make patrol meetings fun and interesting LOL. keep on striving to be a better person in guides whom your juniors can look up to and now that you're a COMMANDER (yay!:D), make sure that you take care of the welfare and discipline of your cohort. be firm and strict if you need to, and don't tolerate people with poor conduct. Seek the support from your peers too:D

to sheryl:
ANOTHER COMMANDER FROM ORIOLE PAT LOL!:DDD similarly, don't tolerate nonsensical people. be firm when you want to discipline someone but don't be mean haha. Oriolians are really nice people but when the time comes for it, we can be strict yeah?:DD enjoy the last lap of your guiding journey to the fullest, and cherish every moment. don't wait till it's too late and regret about things you haven't done but you should have. to audrey:
likewise, i haven't been able to get to know you, which is quite regretful. so cherish the times you have in guides and bond with the patrol. guides might be tiring at times, and at some points you just start to hate it, but the gruelling activities that we do help you grow as a person and will ultimately benefit you! seek help from the seniors and work well with your peers!

HI ORIOLE! holidays already. wonder how you all made use of it(:

I made use of it quite badly. epic fail to be precise. ok ok i had extra lessons but when i reach home i have the tendency to slack. and so the hol hw timetable set failed. DONT BE LIKE ME!

maybe the hol hw timetable has a chance not to fail haha. I set it on the weekly basis, like these few hw do on this week. So i still have Saturday ( and sunday if you count) left. gah. lit. math (MATH!!??) chinese! :O dang sec3s still have chinese oral O LEVEL next month.

note to self : time management is crucial or else you'll find yourself in h-e-l-l. ok enough of hw it's really stressful and not very enjoyable.

time flies. I've been in oriole (and guides) for close to 3 years. i have my difficulties there. the setbacks. alot of worries :O but still, i love guides (: the passion is still there. like, i am a little disappointed at footdrill standards and wish we could be like st. johns. ok don't get any ideas now but this is just an example and my personal opinion!:) i don't think you get it, but still, <3 guides!

P-camp (i mean precamp lol) is next week. done with your camp pat items?(: the scarf and all. if not must chiong acckkk. camp is next next week:D looking forward to it for some strange reasons. O.O

Hello everyone!

How are you all? I decided to post... because I feel like posting! Oh no, I am starting to crap. Oh well, here goes! :D :D :D

Today, our lovely kind and nice juniors, Christabelle Tee and Audrey Ng, got enrolled! Yes, let me repeat, ENROLLED! TRUE BLUE GUIDES. Congrats, congrats. You two really deserved it! Hope that you like your enrolment presents!

And it's the "first" day (it's tomorrow, but then I won't have anything else to write about now!) of our June Holidays! Today was also the day where some people had Science tests and some people had Tingxie. But it's worth it, the long break is finally here!

Well, that also means... GUIDE CAMP! And I'm having mixed feeling about this. It's like, really really fun, but really really torturous the next second, and the next, you feel sad because of farewell! It's really hard to describe (especially with my limited amount of vocabulary) what camp is really about (notice all the 'really's?, so hold on tight, Sec 1s, and relish your first taste of a genuine and real guide camp!

OMG I HAVE STUPID SS TEST TMR AND I'M SOOO SLEEEPPPYYY NOW ))):

anyway, please take note:

to save on costs, we'll only be using black for all the fonts and pictures and stuff

so the front of the pat tee looks like this:

hmm quite dark here but it should look fine on the shirt itself since the shirt's gna be in another colour.

and for the back, we'll be using angelyn's design.

it looks like this:

but not this font obviously. We'll be using the COMPUTER FONT, if possible (fingers crossed)
i changed the words a bit to make it less serious, more fun. like instead of CHIJ ST NICHOLAS GIRL'S SCHOOL (from the original design), i changed it to ST NICKS. and the cookie part is just to fill it in cuz angelyn's previous design didn't have the order and sub order stuff but i thought the words were too little and more words will fill up the back more. since the back only has words, more words makes the back look less blank. and the oriolidae thing is REAL. although it looks quite funny (and sounds even funnier when you say it) but it's the actual family of our patrol! oh and TAKE NOTE THAT this whole chunk of words will be CENTRALISED. it will not stick to the left side like this now.

yeah so i hope you guys are fine with it. ANGELYN: I'll ask if the person has the computer font and i'll be bringing the font thing you printed for me (thanks!) to ask if he can scan the letters in, but if he can't do that we might have to change fonts but i'll try to get sth similar okay. just telling you beforehand.

anyway i hope you guys are okay with the design and everything.

Hi Oriolians!

The font of Kingdom, Phylum, Class is Computer font and the font of Earth, Singapore, CHIJ St. Nicholas Girls' School is Black Chancery. My MS Word is 2003 Edition.

And, I hope that we could have a Patrol Book, where we can have pictures of patrol outings and enrolments and "letters" in which any patrol member could write in. Idea adapted from Orchid Patrol, but Joey says that it's okay that we have one and it's not copyrighted. So, what do you think? The blank book is with me now and I think I could be kept with the PL or PS?

Hi Oriole birds!!! I know it's really LATE but I finally decided to post:)

Outdoor cooking was so fun on friday, in which we were with Mynah. So fun :DD hope we can do it again, someday. With the Sec 1s!!!

Patrol Outing -

Okay, since it was cancelled on 24th February, when do you want to postpone it to? I was hoping, March holidays? But I heard that the Sec 4s are not very free then :( any ideas??? Maybe 1st few weeks of Term 2, when the days are most likely not flooded with tests? And by then the park (I was talking about) should be OPEN! Well, at least that's what the signboard says:)

Patrol Tee -

How long have we been dragging this, so sad. I hope we can get our patrol tee before the Sec 1s get enrolled! Then Gracie, Audrey, Christabelle and I will wear some recognition proudly to show what an awesome patrol we're from :D

So I was thinking like, we could just use the designs that have been submitted so far, as I don't think anyone is planning on designing anything any sooner, right? And we don't want to make it compulsory to come up with a design.

1. PAT OUTING(for the zillionth time)

so, how did you guys spend the wednesday holiday???
that was yet another failed attempt at patrol outing TT.TT

people, please please please spare some time during the march hols so we can have a nice, proper pat outing. we MUST have an outing by JUNE okay:D (cuz that's when camp is and everyone will go crazy planning for camp)

ok, so get back to me or elizabethhhh~

2. PAT MEETINGS

anyway, shangmeei was suggesting to me the other day that we should probably change patrol meeting to mornings instead, since it's been quite difficult for shangzzz and i to go to patrol meetings (if you've had any for the last few weeks) because of extended lessons and tests (BIO!!! D:).

so how? do you guys mind??

we used to have morning patrol meetings in the old compound, if some of you remember:D it's quite fun (Ha.) although everyone's sleepy and we don't really talk much and some people always come late--but at least we can come.

(you know i feel very UN-CLOSE to the sec ones now because i rarely see them and when they see me they see my BACK. because we're falling in. and thing is, i don't even see them around school because upper sec and lower sec have pratically zero contact)

plus, if we MAKE the patrol meetings fun then we'll have a great start to the day!;P

1. carry a small bag. small enough for stuffing your red packets in plus your wallet and phone plus other stuff you wanna bring:D today i din do that and had to let my mum take care of it instead O.O oops. hehe.

Pat outing on the 24 feb, but where are we going? Can we decide by next week? Also the time and where do we meet. I think we should put it after lunch or you want to go out for lunch? I think not in the morning cause we would want to do our homework than later we go out. Until when? I think we could actually end our pat outing abt 4 to 5 pm... ... depends what are we doing. Choices of where we go for Pat outing:
1. East Coast Park(but too far)
2. Pasir ris park (same)
3. Bishan Park(under a little construction)

This is my first time posting here! (haha Angelyn I am faster than you) Guides was very fun today, sec 2s didn't hv any test! After the lecture, we played some games, we even got time to play two games! Well, sec1s how are you adapting well in guides? I konw is tough especially colour party, the commanders are strict. heh spent more time on this one then the previous (more than just a cookie) version, which can be found on the old oriole blog.

today was solely dedicated to ORIOLE. zomg. first the blog then i went around asking other patrols to add us then the patrol tee design.

anyway:

spent pretty long time on the wing :/ the first draft was ugly.

this is our new blog! blogskin should be changed soon--when i find someone who knows how to edit and put our patrol pictures for the blogskin :/
